Duster

Squad light machine gun of Spartan; originally designed by a European firearm company as a lightweight machine gun for paratroopers. The female engineers at the Spindle factory replaced the body with a stronger but lighter polymer, improved the cooling efficiency of the barrel, and equipped a muzzle device with both a flash suppresser and an increased rate of fire. Additionally, they designed a new stock that was more ergonomic.

Although it fires small-caliber rifle rounds, its theoretical rate of fire was up to 1,000 rounds per minute, and it is so powerful in strafing and suppressing enemy infantry that it was named "Duster". Weighing at only a few dozen kilograms, the gun can be operated with ease by only one person. The machine gunner can push forward with other comrades, which is very useful in breaking through a siege.

Duster had a high rate of fire but a relatively small magazine capacity. New soldiers are prone to emptying an entire magazine at once as they tend to get extraordinarily nervous. The Spartans advocate for machine gunners to use precise short bursts to suppress enemies at all times. Therefore, a counter is added to the gun body to remind the shooter of his ammo allowance.

Duster is a high-power, fully automatic weapon that is strictly regulated with high manufacturing requirements. Gangs and rebels find it difficult to get their hands on the authentic versions, while the reliability and durability of printed versions are poor. However, thanks to Hanssen's special connection with Sparta's Spindle Factory and the power of his female fan club, MATR1X no longer has to worry about the supply of authentic Dusters, accessories, and bullets ever since his arrival.
