Submachine Gun

Guerrilla

Of all the Spartans' vast weapons arsenal, the Guerilla is perhaps the most odd-looking. It is a legacy of an old European gun factory. Fully considering ergonomics, and minimizing the size and recoil, its construction is very different from common submachine guns. When Spartan women engineers took over, they further optimized the gun's design, reduced the number of components, refabricated with polymers, reduced production costs, and lengthened the barrel to increase the penetration of the bullet. In close combat, a "Guerilla" with a high rate of fire is a great threat to unprotected targets.

The first ones to be armed with the Guerilla were Spartan commandos serving special sabotage missions, hence the name. Tank crews are also armed with the gun, which was compact enough to carry and took no room in the tank's cramped cabin. But because the body was too short, the dispersion of direct aim with mechanical crosshairs is too significant, so most guerillas were equipped with auxiliary scopes.

There are many export and copycat versions of Guerilla, and Nash, the hacker, is a fan of the gun, saying its sci-fi shape fits his hacker ethos and that "its rate of fire is the only one that matches my RAP."

Hailstorm

Hailstorm looks like some so-called "Wunderwaffe" from the end of the Second World War, but it is not. Thoule Defense analyzed hundreds of submachine gun and assault rifle designs and generated it with the help of the company's AI system. Not a single part of it was designed by humans.

After complex computational analysis, Hailstorm has adopted what AI considers to be the most ergonomic, lightweight, and powerful design. Unlike a typical submachine gun, the recoil from Hailstorm was transferred to a downward-moving counterweight via a connecting rod, reducing recoil to a minimum. According to users of the gun, it probably has less recoil than many pistols and can deliver very quick bursts. But you can't take your eyes off the ammo counter while firing. If you squeeze the trigger, you can empty a standard magazine in just over a second.

Thoule had hoped to produce "Hailstorm" submachine guns through 3D printing, but due to the complex work principle, the printed product often presented various problems, so it was shelved. After hacking into the database just before leaving Thoule, Nash stole several prototype weapon designs and took them to the MATR1X ALLIANCE, including Hailstorm. Nita later modified the blueprint design of the gun, and the quality of 3D-printed products was greatly improved. However, there is a new bug of violent vibration while firing, and there was no proper solution yet, so it has not been used in batches.

Peashooter

"PeaShooter" is an all-purpose submachine gun independently developed by Arkhangai Anda. Design-wise, it has abandoned the influence of Eastern European and East Asian firearms, and its structure and technology are relatively complex. It is also the first high-end product of Arkhangai Anda. Every PeaShooter comes with a silencer, which makes it well-hidden even if it fires first in battles. Part of the body is made of lightweight metal and part of it is made of nanomaterials, making it very strong and durable. Arkhangai Anda also offers two types of triggers and handles for customers with different habits.

"PeaShooter" refers to weak firepower in English, but this one was nothing of the sort. This is only a deceptive development code name that has since become widely used. With a rate of fire of 800-900 rounds per minute (depending on the production year), it is capable of causing considerable damage at medium and close range. The advanced bolt and barrel design ensure a high rate of fire while keeping the recoil to a minimum, facilitating single-handed operation. To a novice, the "PeaShooter" is often a life-saving weapon in a dogfight, while a seasoned fighter can "shoot a short shot at a distance of 20 meters but leave only one single bullet hole on the target."

Despite the high price tag, "Pea Shooters" are found almost everywhere among gangsters thanks to the Arkhangai Anda's extensive sales network and their own excellent performance. Some law enforcement units have also purchased them in bulk. When it was first out, Arkhangai Anda was afraid that their high-end products would not be accepted by the market, so they invested a lot of money to sponsor the new Triathlon World Cup. Therefore, the "PeaShooter" is known to the public as the designated competition gun. Eriksson's "Pea Shooter" was a souvenir from the third New Triathlon World Cup, which he later gave to Nita as a birthday present.
